Olly started work at dBs Music in 2006 as a technician whilst studying on the BTEC Music Technology course. Prior to this he worked for Westland testing and repairing helicopters.
Since then he has largely been involved with the Live sound courses. He is the lead technician for the Live Sound team and manages the resources for the course as well as advancing and project managing all external events, including shows at our venue, festivals and many bespoke concerts. He has been teaching on degree courses for six years and is always keen to work with students on a broad spectrum of live events and shows.
Outside of his working commitments at dBs Music he is a a gigging freelance sound engineer who works with bands both in the studio and as a live engineer. His previous work includes Glastonbury Festival, Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza, Henley Music Festival, Outlook and Dimensions Festivals in Croatia, British Athletics events, The Invictus Games, The World Rowing Cup and many other corporate or high profile public events. All of these events require large scale public address systems and complex sound reinforcement solutions to meet the clients needs. He have been fortunate enough to work with some of the leading sound engineers currently working in the industry as well as being able to use state of the art equipment and technology.
As part of our growing relationship with one of our technology partners Martin Audio, Olly has also trained as a qualified MLA technician.
