Free Software Friday is our regular Friday feature here at the dBs Music blog. We dig the depths of the music production and media webosphere and discover what downloadable plugin freebies are worth double clicking each week.
Since 2015, the lovely people at Sonniss have released a free pack of sound effects to tie in with each year's Game Developer's Conference (GDC) for use in video games, film, television and interactive media. Over the years those packs have increased in size and despite the pandemic preventing this year's conference from running as intended, Sonniss has released a huge 50GB sample library to celebrate GDC Summer.
Now, before you start weighing up where you can trim some fat on your hard drive, Sonniss has very kindly split the download into 14 separate ZIP downloads. The entire collection collates a staggering 1466 sound effects ranging from horror sounds, footsteps, ambiences, digital UI, vehicle sounds, coffee shops and so much more.
With HD space being the only barrier to entry, we can't recommend this generous collection of high-quality sound effects enough. All files are royalty-free for life and can be used in as many commercial projects as you like.
You can download this pack using the link below either through the multi-part ZIP folder links or as one download through Sonniss' official torrent.
