Free Software Friday is our regular Friday feature here at the dBs Music blog. We dig the depths of the music production and media webosphere and discover what downloadable plugin freebies are worth double clicking each week.
With live audio and video streaming really taking off at the moment, the real conversation has been focused on how to get the best sound, which we guess is Dolby's cue for the arrival of Dolby On; a free iOS and Android app that promises an easy way to record and livestream high-quality audio and video from your phone.
Through a combination of noise reduction from surrounding sound sources, like electrical hum or amp buzz, and a dynamic EQ that adapts to the music you're playing, Dolby is confident that their app will make you sound better than ever.
In addition to these automatic features you can also use the app's 'Styles' to add some personal colour to the recording. Bass, treble, boost and track trim controls promise some personalisation, and work just like a photo filter would on a picture.
Dolby On is free to download for both iOS and Android using the link below, but is still in Early Access, meaning more developments, tweaks and features will still be in the pipeline.
