A bright future in audio-visual - Jerome Attrill

After completing our Live Sound degree course last year, Jerome Attrill immediately went into employment in the industry and has recently made more moves to further his career in the AV and live sound arena. We caught up with him on the shop floor at his new role to find out more...

What have you been up to since leaving dBs?

"Since leaving dBs' live sound course on June 2017, I moved straight over to Trowbridge, Wiltshire to start the full time role of Theatre Technician for the fully commercial venue the Arc Theatre. The Arc Theatre deals with a variety of performances from plays, musicals, live music, dance, comedy and a lot more. It is also a part of Wiltshire College, so I work closely with students on productions within the theatre spaces.

"However, I am set to leave the Arc Theatre at the end of May to start work with AV company JHAV Ltd, as a full time AV Events and Warehouse Technician. I have been freelancing for the company for a number of years now and look forward to starting full time with them.

What’s your favourite show or gig you’ve worked on?

"Working on the Pyramid Stage and the West Holts Stage at Glastonbury 2017, has to be my biggest and best event I have worked on."

How has dBs prepared you for work in the industry?

"The skills and experience I gained from dBs really did set me up for the transition straight into the industry. I feel this is because of the great industry experience and knowledge passed down from lessons and lecturers. Also the opportunities given to myself to get involved in real events with a number of different PA, AV and events companies during my time at dBs."

What are your plans for the future?

"My plans for the future are to continue my career further into the industry and build a career with JHAV Ltd. Also to build my skills set and experience."
