Following on from the launch of Live 11, Ableton has now released Live 11 Lite; the free, feature-limited version of their flagship DAW.
Ableton Live 11 has been available for almost five months now, with their extended 90-free trial of Live Suite a popular route for new arrivals to the DAW. Now though, you can have a permanent version of Live 11 on your PC or Mac with this newest Lite upgrade.
Though this is only a vertical slice of the full experience, you still get a great piece of software to work with. Lite 11 includes the new addition of MPE controller support, for hardware like ROLI's Seaboard; three new devices - Phaser-Flanger, Limiter and Saturator - and you can now have up to 16 scenes in Session View.
Lite 11 has also brought with it a host of new features including Tempo Following, Expression Control as well as updated Instrument, MIDI and Drum Racks. You can read the full list of everything included here.
It's more than likely that many of you reading will have purchased a piece of hardware that came bundled with Ableton Live Lite, and if you are one of those people you can upgrade to this newest version without needing a new serial number.
For everyone else, Ableton Live 11 Lite can be downloaded for both Windows and macOS (64-bit) using the link below.
