About this role
Reporting to the Centre Manager and Head Technician you will be responsible for assisting the Technician Team to facilitate the efficient running of the Centre. You’ll ensure the Centre and its facilities are clean and working, and also be responsible for health and safety. You’ll offer technical advice and support to students and the Teaching Team. With the Technician Team and central IT you’ll plan and implement room redesigns and upgrades. From time to time your logistical support will be needed at other dBs Music Centres or at external events which may be outside your normal working hours.
The Centre is open late nights and weekends however this can vary depending on student needs. Shift work is shared among the Technician Team.
There is no single type of person that works at dBs Music, but we’re all passionate about what we do! Knowledge of Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Native Instruments is essential. You’ll have experience of Mac OS in a networked environment, as well as basic networking skills. You’ll have proven experience with both analogue and digital mixing consoles, PA systems, a wide range of microphones and outboards, and DJ performing equipment. You’ll also be able to troubleshoot and maintain all of the above equipment. You’ll have strong written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, punctual, a supportive team member and have an eye for detail.
Desirable candidates will have a degree in music, knowledge of Higher Education systems and processes. We’re asking for applicants who are DBS Certified, or have a willingness to become Certified. Familiarity with GMail, Docs and Sheets is also desirable.
